Christmas morning 2014

Awake alone, hubby and son upstairs still sleeping after 8 am.  I am up, having the cup of coffee with a Christmas choir singing on TV.  The dogs have been out and are fed, and back sleeping.  In the quiet of Christmas morning, I am hit with the ghosts of Christmases past, and future and of course, the present.

This year we are waiting a few more days to celebrate Christmas until our other son is home as he had to work on Christmas, and we are whole as a family.  Its not Christmas until everyone is here safe and sound anyway.  Reminded of those with family away, perhaps serving the country, or just too far away to make it home.

Reminded of those mornings where there were excited children tearing through wrappings and playing with new toys.  Ahhhh, the way times change, eh?  Its all about going down the road.

Anyway, the shopping and the hype and all will be pretty much done after today, and we can set our sights on a new year, new beginnings and new sights.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all beautiful memories.  Make them and keep them!
