OMG, I am beat!
I was hired to do a little boys bedroom yesterday, and a little girls today. Its a surprise to the kids, and I feel like I was the crew on one of those home makeover shows. They told me they would take pics of the kids when they get to see it. Hope so.
Just a glimpse...
The little girls are going to make the leaves for the tree and hang other tree things in it. A project for them with their Mom.
Its been awhile since I climbed up and down so much, and I know I am going to walk funny for a few days. I hope they enjoy it for years to come.
Always something fun. Stay tuned!
PS HI BARB!

Wow, June is going fast! One week away from July!
Seem to be finishing up some things, and bits and pieces instead of any large great works. Have some exhibitions I am going to get into, and may try my hand at Plein Aire painting in an event in July. Thats exciting and scary at the same time.
Remember this?
Well I finally got the resin on it and painted the edges and it looks like this:
Worked on a piece for an art exhibition, not happy with the results so starting from square one. Here is the beginning of the Bonsai project... this is pen and ink and colored pencil... It got worse from here. Next try will be in paint.
In a way, I like the challenge of having an "assignment" for an exhibition, because its usually something I hadn't thought of to do, so its stretching my abilities.
Still working on an old pole lamp. Thought I was done with it, but broke a switch and we need to do some mechanical/electrical work on it. Dang.
Well thats an update. Sorry it seems like I am just throwing stuff up here, hopefully will have some substantial and meaningful art here soon. Stay tuned.

Hoping to do more of these. I really like it.

June 15, 2014 Fathers Day
Ah, it was nice to have one of our sons home for the weekend. He took his Dad out golfing this morning and its been an awesome weather weekend. The other son lives too far away to just zip home for the weekend, but sure we'll get a call before the day is out. Neither The Hubs nor I have our Fathers around anymore, but we still think of them today. Our advice: Hug 'em if ya Got 'em, folks! And Happy Fathers Day to everyone.
Anyways, Here is what the weekend brought:
A funny sign on the way to the Farmers Market yesterday...
A project I have been working on... a recycled tray and glued in wine corks (no I didn't drink ALL those, I had donations from friends!
The table that I finished last summer, let go on a seam. (DANGIT!) and we had to cinch, glue and bracket it back together. It took all three of us!
Finished this painting of a fawn in the bushes. I like the eyes much better now, but my son says it looks like a kangaroo. OH well.
Besides that, and the regular chores, I was able to ship the corn hole game off to the interested party and work on the pole lamp and the rocking horse a little. Neither are done or even showable at this point so stay tuned!

Finished my wooden flag and got it up on the garage for Flag Day yesterday.

Where does the time go? I really don't remember Winter going this quickly! Well its after my bedtime so thought I would quickly post the stuff I have been working on....
The coffee table. I have erased some of this and re-did since this pic was taken. Got to play with the ol' sword striper I used to use on pinstriping vehicles. Boy I'm rusty.
Remember when I told you about the round robin art thing I was into? Here is mine that has been to Maine, California and Iowa, and back to me.
I finished another wooden flag this week. (See previous posts)
Set up at First Fridays last Friday night. It was a beautiful night! Went to an Art Fair on Saturday!
And some friends found a bambi in some thicket while out on a walk, and I just had to paint it. Still working on it.. . something about the eyes that I don't like.
I have been thinking of how I want to finish off my "Human Form" painting. Maybe will leave as is.
Put a couple pieces into a silent auction for a fundraiser this week. Sold another painting for a Fathers Day gift, and was asked today for a piece to put in a fundraiser for Alzheimers.
Thats about all that I've been up to. More to come! Stay tuned!

JUNE? Well, I guess it is! Wow its funny that May has the same amount of days as January and goes twice as fast! (Its more enjoyable! That's why!)
Well, this weekend, The Hubs is working, so I am trying to catch up on some projects.
I am having problems finding semi gloss clear coat for the corn hole games. Lowes had only satin, and the other local hardware is going out of business and almost cleaned out. Hubs went to a Lowes 30 miles away and they recommended varnish. NOT ON WHITE PAINT! Sorry.
So, started another American Flag like I made last week.. Hubs should be glad that I am working on doing all the projects that are taking up his precious garage space. (Seriously, its a small garage and you can barely turn around in there!) Although he laughed last week when I made that American flag and I mentioned that I got something out of the garage. It was a small piece of flat wood, hardly noticeable that it was gone when there is so much more that needs to be gone.
ANYWAY... started with this because it was closest to the door...
A coffee table that had seen better days...
And this little horse that I thought, "this could be done much cuter!" Now its up to me...
So I sanded, and cleaned, and filled holes, and sanded, and primered, and currently they look like this:
So better already in their primer white, and looking like a blank canvas! Hopefully will be able to do something with them soon.
Stay tuned!
