Tomorrow is the end of February already. For being the shortest month, I am definitely ready to give it a kiss goodbye. On to warmth, I say!
The Journal52 prompt this week is 'Found Poetry'. Wasn't sure about that prompt, but am happy with what I sat down to doodle the other night.
Other than that, have been catching up on life. My creativity goes in streaks and for a while I do a bunch, then I rest and go read a book, or go clean the house which has been left to do while I was creative. Did I tell you that we are expecting another 8-10 inches of the stuff again this weekend? I may have to do a project to keep from getting claustrophobic.
Stay warm, and stay tuned!

Journal52 prompt, "When I Grow Up" beginning... it was last week. Still haven't finished it yet.
A larger canvas of one of my sons photographs for his office at work...
Just a start to an adorable face on the Humane Societys site - I couldn't resist!
Back in this blog you can read how excited I was to find these old font wood printing blocks, I framed them put some spacers in to wedge them all into the frame, (so its not permanent) and added an old calligraphy nib.
Last weeks Journal52 prompt. "Love letters".

Valentines Day 2014
**Whispers ** I believe we are out of the Polar vortex now. I don't want to jinx it because the last time I said something like that, it did a U turn and came back!
We actually have rumors of it getting up to 50 next week! Bring on the mud and keep the pumps runnin'! Sheesk!
Anyways, my team at work always put out Valentine boxes and we write little things or give little presents to each other. Yeah, I know we did that in elementary school, but its nice to give and receive like that.
This year, I made a "Book of Love" for each of the girls:
Made from a block of 2x4, some matte board scraps, duct tape and stickers. On the inside of the front cover was a special sticker. They were fun to make and I didn't have to buy a single thing! BONUS!
Last night was the Bra Art Auction from 6-8, and I had to leave at 8 before my piece was cut off from the bidding. I really love the fact that my donation of art will help the local Womens Health Care Center and that this event was PACKED last night. And on a personal note, I feel good that the first bid was at 60! For someone to think it should START there is very much a compliment.
I didn't end up putting in the second piece because of the frame. But it'll be ready for next year.
On another note, I was online and found a pic of a turtle coming out of its shell, so I thought I would try it. I thought it was a photoshopped photo, but now that I have been looking at it, it might just be a painting. I will have to go back to where I saw it to see for sure, but here is my rendition...
I thought it kinda looked a little more like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and my Great Nephew liked it very much, so I let him name him... he picked Turbo. So, here is Turbo as a work in progress.
The Journal 52 challenge is again behind with then new prompt due tomorrow. This week is something about Love letters. Now I feel like I can finally formulate the ideas running around in my head.
Last week was "building character" and I just slapped something down, thinking I could refine it later, but it hasn't happened yet. But thats the problem with wanting to do something and doing it because you have to. I usually do better when I have direction but if there is something else on the horizon....?
Just not thrilled with how this is working out... will have to sleep on it.
Stay tuned...

Happy February!
So happy to be out of January~ it was the coldest on record, and second on record snowfall. Our neck of the woods was colder than the North Pole on some of those days. At least with windchill. Hopefully the nasty stuff is behind us, regardless that we have 8 inches of the white stuff coming in tomorrow.
ANYWAY, all that stuck in the house stuff has been good for artistic stuff. (AND housecleaning, but I won't bore you with that.)
Pen and inked a covered bridge in Ontario from a photo by Robbyn Thibalt, with her permission:
I loved the colors of this bridge.
I finished the project for my friend... it was one of those projects that was just trouble from the word go, and had to do things over and over again. I can't show it, because I think she needs to see it first. I hope she is happy with it, I know I am happy that its done.
The first Bra Art piece is entered for the auction. The second is still waiting for a frame. I can't spray paint in the house and its too cold to do it outside at this point. And it really needs the paint. So, they extended the deadline til Friday, so we can try to get it painted somehow before then.
I am displaying at the local First Fridays again this Friday. Hopefully everyone will want to break out from their cabin fever and come downtown to browse. I have been trying to back some art and get it cellophaned and get em ready to go. Hopefully I can get the above backed and at least matted before then.
Spring is right around the corner, I can tell because I am getting notifications that there are some artsy happenings on the calendar! Thats hope for the warmer weather! **Lin goes into a daydream where its warm, and the streetscape has colorful flowers, and there is art displays here and there, and music. She shakes her head and comes out of the dream** It WILL happen, won't it?
Stay tuned.
